In Memorium - John William Boneham

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John William Boneham, who died peacefully on 16th July 2025, following a short illness.
Born on 7th March 1939, John devoted nearly his entire life to Boneham & Turner Ltd - a journey that began with childhood visits to the Nottingham Road works and continued formally when he joined as an apprentice on 1st September 1956 and then become a Director of the business in 1963. From those early days, John developed a deep connection to the people and machines that shaped the company. He gave almost 47 years of dedicated service, retiring in March 2003, and remained a guiding presence through the values he embodied.
John’s legacy is one of loyalty, kindness, and quiet strength. He treated everyone with respect and humility, and his warmth and patience left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He was not only central to the life of the business but also a devoted husband to Jennifer, a loving father to Charles, Sarah, and William, and a much-loved grandfather.
John will be remembered with great affection and gratitude by his family, friends, and colleagues. His contribution to Boneham & Turner, and the example he set through his life and work, live on.
His funeral will be held at Mansfield today (4th August). He will be deeply missed.
