Serrated Jig Bushes

Serrated Jig Bushes

Polygrip Serrated Drill Bushes | For use in Composites

Polygrip GS Serrated drill bushes are common place in glass fibre, composite or synthetic jigs and other castable applications. The serrations and grooved recess lock the bush in place and prevent axial movement. Unlike regular drill bushes. serrated bushes are not to tight tolerances unless requested. Special sizes can be manufactured and tailored to requirement on fast lead times.

What are Serrated Jig Bushes and Why are they suitable for composites?

GS composite bushings are engineered to deliver precise drilling, reliable location, and accurate alignment across a broad range of composite applications. Designed for glass-fibre resin systems, carbon fibre, and other advanced composite structures, they offer strong stability and consistent repeatability.

A serrated outer profile, precision-finished bore, and resin-locking groove ensure a firm, dependable fit, whether installed in tooling, fixtures, jigs, moulds, structural assemblies, or general composite manufacturing environments. Ideal for advanced industries working with lightweight materials and structures across aerospace, motorsport, marine, defence, renewable energy and automotive.

What are the performance characteristics of Serrated Drill Jig Bushes?

  • The serrated outside diameter: provides resistance to axial movement to minimise spinning and preventing damage to jigs, fixtures and moulds.
  • Resin-locking feature: once resin pours around the groove, the bush is locked into place offering increased resistance.
  • Precision-ground bore: enables accurate and repeatable performance in all applications. Whether drilling, location and aligning or positioning.
  • Hardened steel: Manufactured from hardened bearing steel, Boneham serrated bushes have increased wear resistance, maintain full integrity in autoclave environments, and superior fatigue resistance in repetitive or demanding manufacturing environments.

Compatible with glass-fibre resin and carbon-fibre systems, they provide dependable results in tooling, moulds, fixtures, assembly components, interacting with location and alignment pins, dowel pins, shoulder bolts and stepped dowels.
