Position: Senior Buyer

The Senior Buyer will handle all aspects of the sourcing, quoting and procurement of raw materials and finished goods, in support of current and potential production and customer requirements.
This is a fast-paced role, with a catalogue of fast selling items; the Senior Buyer must optimise inventory to support customer usage, meet target inventory levels and minimise costs.  Ensure continuous improvement goals focus on cost, quality, delivery, and safety.

Responsibilities and duties
  • To become an expert in the use of MRP Control Centre and champion the full integration of the platform into the business
  • Responsible for supplier sourcing, procurement and delivery of raw materials, machined components, contract manufacturing & services to build a competitive solution for customers whilst maximising margin for the business
  • Leading the assessment of supply base capability vs need, supplier sourcing, risk assessment, supplier selection & development, negotiation with suppliers, scheduling, ERP/MRP systems planning, supplier contract management, conflict resolution and maintaing cost-effective inventory control for all materials
  • Ensures that all regulatory requirements with respect to purchasing, storage, and transportation of materials are adhered to
  • Provide input in the supplier development process by evaluating suppliers' performance and working with suppliers to facilitate improvements in cost, quality, and delivery
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, when called upon
  • Maintenance of accurate purchasing records in the ERP system as well as the other files and databases used with the company
  • Ongoing problem solving and management of material shortages and problem parts
  • Vendor management - quality and on-time delivery reporting and management
  • Support of accounts payable and receiving issues associated with their P.O.'s
  • Timely processing & resolution of rejected material
  • Quoting to support sales effort
  • Sourcing of new parts related to implementation of a quote or a quote/buy
  • Material status reporting
  • Analysis, resolution, and recording of purchase price variances
  • Other assigned duties
The person
  • Vast experience within a complex/global procurement/material control/buying environment
  • Experience of using MRP/DRP processes
  • Knowledge of SAP preferred but not required
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office; particularly Excel
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Great eye for detail

Position: Sales Administrator

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join the Boneham team.

Main duties & responsibilities:

  • Providing outstanding Customer Service
  • Issuing quotes to customers and following them up as required
  • Correctly entering orders and other data onto the system
  • Building strong relationships with customers
  • Liaising with internal teams to ensure orders are fulfilled on time
  • Managing customer expectations
  • Creating and issuing daily reports as required
  • Setting up new accounts
  • Keeping the CRM up to date

The ideal candidate:

  • Previous experience within a sales administration role
  • Great eye for detail
  • Ability to multi-task and work to deadlines
  • Willingness to learn new products
  • Experience with negotiation
  • Confident with both verbal and written communication

Position: Cylindrical Grinder

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join the Boneham team.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have at least 5 years' experience in setting operating grinding machines
  • Support the training of our Apprentices, to achieve a high level of skill
  • Have a good understanding of grinding wheels, fluids and processes
  • Be familiar with working with hardened steel and stainless steel
  • Be able to work repeatedly to .0001" (2.5 μm)
  • Manufacture to engineering drawings, with an ability to work to imperial and metric dimensions
  • Work to ISO and AS9100 processes and procedures
  • Be experienced in using verniers, micrometers
  • Support the training of our Apprentices, to achieve a high level of skill
  • Work to a production plan, whilst considering setting and planning efficiencies
  • Have a keen eye for detail and take great pride in their work
  • Demonstrate a can-do attitude
  • Be open to adopting lean methods
  • Always consider health and safety risks

Working hours are:

  • Monday to Thursday 8am - 4.30pm
    Friday 8am - 1pm
