Description

Spherical Washers DIN 6319 C/D M6 - M56.

Spherical Washers are designed to aid even fastening between parts with irregular alignment. The top washer (C) features a convex spherical radius for aligning in the concaved bottom washer (D). Both spherical washers (top and bottom), when used together, form a male to female type assembly. The top and bottom spherical washers are sold separately. The DIN 6319 series are suffixed with a 'C' for the top washer (Convex) and 'D' for bottom washer (Concaved). Spherical washers are manufactured from case hardening steel and blackened finish. Spherical dished washers can also be called seating washers, leveling seating washers or male and female washers.

How are Spherical Washers used?

Concaved and convex profiled washers are known as Spherical Washers and are self-aligning. An incredibly effective solution in fastening applications on an uneven surface. The C form washer, also known as the top washer, in standard applications, has a slightly smaller internal diameter than the D form washer, or bottom washer. The stud or bolt, passes through both washers and upon tightening of the fastener, both washers self align. This creates a flat or parallel clamping surface. They are most commonly found in clamping applications, but also in bolt mounting machinery and large diesel engines.
